What is ReelClick? ReelClick is a free, browser-based tool for downloading publicly available Instagram content — Reels, videos, photos, and Stories — directly to your device. You don’t need an app, an account, or a paid subscription.
How does ReelClick work? You paste an Instagram URL into the input field. Our tool fetches the media file that Instagram makes publicly available for that URL and delivers it to your browser so you can save it. The process takes 2–5 seconds for most Reels.
Is ReelClick really free? Yes, completely free. There are no hidden charges, no premium tier, and no download limits. You can download as many Reels as you need.
Do I need to create an account? No. You don’t need to sign up, create an account, or provide any personal information to use ReelClick. Just paste a link and download.
Does ReelClick work on iPhone, Android, and PC? Yes. ReelClick works in any web browser on any device — iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows, iPad. No app installation required.
Downloading Reels
How do I download an Instagram Reel?
- Open the Instagram app and find the Reel you want to save
- Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) and select “Copy Link”
- Go to reelclick.online and paste the link into the input box
- Tap Download and wait 2–5 seconds
- Save the video to your device
How do I save an Instagram Reel on iPhone? In Safari, after tapping Download and the video loads in the preview player: long-press the video and select “Save Video” or “Save to Photos.” The video saves to your iPhone Camera Roll. Use Safari rather than Chrome for the most reliable experience on iOS.
How do I save an Instagram Reel on Android?
After tapping Download, tap the “Save to Device” button when it appears. The file downloads to your Downloads folder as an .mp4 file. It may appear in your Gallery automatically, or you may need to open the Files app to find it.
What format are downloaded Reels saved in? MP4 (H.264). This format plays on every device — iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows — and imports into any video editor or media player.
How long does downloading a Reel take? Most Reels download in 2–5 seconds. Longer Reels or slower internet connections may take a few extra seconds.
Is there a limit on how many Reels I can download? No download limit. Download as many Reels as you need, one at a time by pasting each link separately.
Can I download multiple Reels at once? ReelClick handles one Reel per link submission. Paste a link, download, then paste the next link. There’s no batch download limit.
Video Quality
What quality will my downloaded Reel be? Downloaded Reels are in the quality available from Instagram’s servers — typically 720p or 1080p HD. We pass the file through without any additional compression on our end.
Does ReelClick add any watermark? No. We fetch the original file and deliver it to you exactly as Instagram serves it. Zero branding added.
Can I download Instagram Reels in 4K? Instagram doesn’t store or serve Reels in 4K. The maximum available quality is whatever the creator uploaded, typically 1080p. 4K downloads aren’t possible because Instagram doesn’t offer them.
Why does my downloaded Reel look lower quality than it does in the app? Instagram compresses all videos when they’re uploaded. The file you download is the same compressed version that Instagram stores and delivers to viewers. Does the downloaded Reel include the original audio and music? Usually yes. Original audio (the creator’s own recording) always downloads intact. Licensed music tracks may be absent in some regions due to copyright licensing restrictions — this is an Instagram server-side decision, not a limitation of our tool. Privacy and Security
Do you store the Instagram links I paste? No. We don’t log or store the specific URLs you submit.
Do you store the files I download? No. Media files pass directly from Instagram’s CDN to your browser. We don’t retain copies.
Do you need my Instagram login? No. Never provide your Instagram password to any third-party downloader. We don’t need it and never ask for it.
Is it safe to use ReelClick? Yes. You don’t provide any personal information. No Instagram credentials are involved. We use standard HTTPS encryption for all connections.
What data does ReelClick collect? We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (pages visited, device types, geographic regions). This is anonymous and aggregated. Our hosting provider maintains standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps). We don’t sell personal data. See our Privacy Policy.
Does ReelClick use cookies? Like most websites, we use cookies for basic analytics (Google Analytics). We don’t use cookies to track individual download behavior.
Content Access
Can I download Reels from private accounts? No. Private account content is restricted to approved followers, and Instagram’s privacy protections prevent any third-party tool from accessing it. Only public account content is accessible.
Can I download any Reel, including my own? Yes. ReelClick works for both your own public Reels and other users’ public Reels.
What types of Instagram content can I download?

Why isn’t my link working?
Common causes: (1) You’re using a profile URL instead of a Reel-specific link — use the ⋯ → “Copy Link” option from within the Reel. (2) The account is private. (3) The Reel was deleted. (4) Your link has extra parameters after the ? — try removing them. See our troubleshooting guide.
Legal and Policy Questions
Is downloading Instagram Reels legal? Laws vary by country and context, and this is not legal advice. Downloading content for personal offline viewing is broadly practiced. What’s clearly not appropriate: re-uploading someone else’s content as your own, using it commercially without permission, or distributing it widely. Copyright ownership stays with the original creator regardless of download.
Does the original creator know when I download their Reel? No. Instagram doesn’t notify creators when their content is downloaded via third-party tools. The download process is invisible to Instagram’s notification system.
Can I use a downloaded Reel in my own videos? Only if you have the creator’s explicit permission, or if the content is licensed for that use (Creative Commons, etc.). Downloading doesn’t grant usage rights. See our Terms and Conditions.

Troubleshooting
The tool loads but nothing downloads — what’s wrong? Try disabling browser extensions (especially ad blockers or privacy extensions) and try again. Also try incognito/private mode to rule out extension conflicts.
I got a .webp file instead of a video.
You likely pasted a photo post link instead of a Reel link. Make sure the URL contains /reel/ and that you’re starting from a video post, not a photo.
My download saves to an unexpected location on iPhone. If you used “Download Linked File” in Safari, the file goes to the Files app → Downloads, not Photos. Move it manually to Photos if needed. If you see “Save Video,” that goes directly to Photos.
The download worked but the video has no audio. The Reel’s audio uses a licensed track that Instagram restricts in your region. This is an Instagram server-side limitation. Try screen recording if you need the audio, or find the track separately. See our guide on audio in downloads.
The link worked before but now shows an error. The Reel was likely deleted by the creator, or the account went private after you saved the link.
